Heat Pumps - What are they?
Typical heating and cooling systems, such as furnaces and air conditioners, work by generating warm or cool air by consuming Natural Gas or Electricity. This can be wasteful. Heat Pumps simply transfer heat from one location to another.

A heat pump is a heating and cooling system that transfers heat from one location to another making it 3 to 4 times more efficient. In the winter, it extracts heat from the outdoor air and transfers it into your home to heat it.
In the summer, it does the opposite such as a standard Air Conditioner extracting heat from your home and transferring it outside to cool your home.

What if I have a Boiler or Electric Baseboard heat
And no Ductwork?
As mentioned, heat pumps, despite their name, can be used to both heat and air condition your home. They also come in various sizes and types, from ducted to ductless mini-split systems. That means you can install a heat pump in a house or building where there is no existing ductwork. Perfect for older Character homes with Boilers and slab homes with Electric Baseboard heaters. There are also options for conditioning multiple areas with one outdoor Condenser.
